I have had the pleasure of knowing and working closely with Mona Balgobin for ten years, from her college career to her artistic, entrepreneurial ventures. Mona’s leadership and enthusiasm has carried over from her work at Baruch College, where we first collaborated to cater and entertain numerous events in the South Asian student community. Most recently, Mona has contributed her time to creating art for my restaurant, DesiGalli, in New York City. She has been involved from our initial brainstorming stages to execution for both locations. Mona’s work with DesiGalli includes a hand painted mural with inclusion of our logo design and font, hand painted details on all serving tables, a hand painted mural on our outdoor seating booth and interior pantry design and painting. Mona’s diligence during each project is a clear reflection of her passion and desire to share her art with others in unconventional ways. The addition of Mona’s artwork in our space helps to enhance our social media presence, beautify our space and ultimately attract new customers. I hope to continue working with Mona Balgobin and I know her talent and skill will add value to your business and community.

I discovered Mona and her artwork through her Instagram page, where she posts her current projects and creative endeavors. I was intrigued by her use of color, and the rich imagery she creates. Mona produced a series of four original paintings for “100 Small Works of Hope,” a group show I curated comprised of 30 women artists in NYC. Her collection was a clear representation of her spirit and talent.

Mona was a pleasure to work with. She is dependable, organized, and generous. Her enthusiasm to collaborate with other artists was evident, and she produced new work under tight deadlines.

Mona stepped up to engage the public through social media and word of mouth, which is so important to the success of a show. She is a reliable, resourceful, and energetic team member. I hope to continue working with Mona on future art projects. I would highly recommend Mona to be a certified artist of New Rochelle, as I know she will honor and represent her community through her art.
